Under the direction of Creative Director Gillian Jones, all our students receive first class training from highly qualified teachers in a safe and encouraging environment.
Gillian who has been teaching dance for the last 35 years has a wide experience in all genres of dance. She is an Examiner and a Fellow of UKA Dance and a Member of The International Dance Teachers Association.
For many years Gillian choreographed and performed in many Musicals winning Best Choreographer at a variety of festivals. She was also involved in light entertainment programmes for the BBC as a resident choreographer.
Whether your child wants to dance for fun/fitness, or train to be a professional dancer, our teachers provide support in a friendly manner whilst maintaining a reliable approach.
We offer the opportunity to perform in an annual Theatre Showcase along with Dance Award Assessments for our Primary Children and Regulated Grade Exams for our Juniors/Seniors, giving them UCAS points towards their university application and for college auditions, higher education or a career in dance.

I’ve been dancing at Gillian Jones Dance Academy for 10 years. I’ve literally grown up here. My Thursday’s are a 3 hour session. I spend the first hour volunteering with the younger class which is helping me tick off for my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. Then I have 2 hours of Grade 6 Ballet and Jazz classes.
My two daughters have attended the Gillian Jones Dance Academy since 2018. They love going to classes every week, learning new skills and making new friends all within a caring, inclusive and nurturing environment. Gillian and the teachers are friendly, dedicated and supportive. They strive to ensure that each child not only reaches their full dance potential but more importantly gains an inner confidence that will carry the children well through all aspects of their lives. I can’t recommend Gillian and the academy highly enough.
Our daughter has been attending since she was 6 and is now 10, and we’ve seen such amazing growth in both her dance skills and confidence. Gillian is fantastic with children of all abilities and creates such a supportive, encouraging environment. It’s not just about technique — it’s about self-expression and having fun. We’re so grateful to be part of such a wonderful dance community!
