Benefits of Dance Classes for Children
Builds up confidence
Many children are shy. Through dance they can learn to let go, join with their peers and enjoy themselves. They learn to trust others and receive lots of encouragement. And performing on stage will help make them a confident person in the future.
Improves focus and concentration
Children are little bundles of energy and find it difficult to concentrate on one thing at a time. During dance classes they have to pay attention even from a very young age. If they are learning a routine for a performance they will put all their energy and focus into it.
Benefits their health
With childhood obesity on the rise, it’s important to get children active from an early age. Dance keeps children moving and improves their strength and flexibility. This will benefit their fitness which will show up in other activities as well.
Develops social skills
Dance classes usually involve a lot of teamwork and cooperation with the same group week after week. As a result, children often form strong friendships and bonds whilst improving their communication skills.
